Pet Boarding

Capeway Veterinary Hospital offers high-quality boarding for dogs and cats.  Whether you have to be out of town overnight or for an extended period of time, your pet will be happy and well cared for here.  We board cats and dogs as a service to our clients on a reservation basis.  Not a client, call us today to schedule an appointment

Each animal is housed in a separate kennel/run.  Pets in the same household may be housed together during the day when staff is in the hospital and a cage sharing agreement must be signed.

Each dog is taken to a large shaded outside run to exercise three times a day for appropriate time periods.  All animals are fed a high quality, well balanced diet.  Doctors are alerted and available to treat any abnormalities 7 days a week. We suggest you phone prior to boarding to make certain that adequate space is available.  This is especially important prior to the holidays when demand often exceeds the capacity of our facilities.  To ensure the safety of your pet, all pets are required to be current on vaccinations.   Dogs must be current on rabies, dhpp, and kennel cough vaccinations.  Cats must be current on their rabies and drc vaccines.

What to Pack When Boarding Your Pet?

Capeway Veterinary Hospital will supply blankets, food, and feeding bowls for your pet. Runs and cages are scrubbed every day and bedding is washed frequently so that we can keep everything clean and odor free. (You may wish to bring along your pet's favorite toy or blanket to make his or her stay more familiar.)

If you prefer to bring your pet’s own food, please package it in individual bags labeled for each day of boarding. The label should include your pet’s name, your last name, type of food, and amount per feeding.

If your pet is taking a medication that we do not keep in stock, we ask that you bring it with you. Please make sure it is clearly labeled and only bring the amount necessary for the stay. The label should include your pet’s name, your last name, type and strength of medication, and dosing directions. There is an administration fee for giving medications while boarding.

Completing forms at home before your pet’s visit will save time.  (This form is in word format, please print, fill out the requested information, and bring it with you on the day of admittance)
