Our staff members are highly skilled professionals dedicated to servicing the needs of your pets. We provide individual care for each patient and insure personal attention to your concerns as an owner.
Our staff is trained to assist you with many of your questions and pet care needs, as well as offering caring support for your pets during their visit at our hospital. They routinely attend continuing education seminars in order to keep up with the progressive changes in veterinary medicine.

Practice Manager:
Cindy Dumais
Cindy has been with Capeway Veterinary Hospital (CVH) since 1998 and has been the practice manager since 2003. She is a member of the American Animal Hospital (AAHA) and the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA); through them has completed several courses in veterinary business management. She is currently working towards her degree in business management and certification in veterinary practice management. Fisher, her spoiled mix breed dog, was adopted at CVH as a very sick puppy. He enjoys going for rides in the car, walks around the park, swimming, and fishing (someday he will catch that fish!!). Miss Myrtle, her misunderstood cat was a feral adopted through CVH as well. In her free time she enjoys time with family, friends, and her pets.

Head Technician:
Meghan Champagne
Meghan has been with CVH since 1997 and in addition to numerous technician duties, she supervises 10 other technicians. She is a New Bedford resident and developed a passion for animal care at an early age. She has previous experience at the Buttonwood Park Zoo and several Florida based Veterinary Hospitals. She has an associate's degree through BCC and is currently working towards becoming a certified veterinary technician. She lives with her pets Ramona (daschund), Henry (rescued dog), and Belly (collie/shepard mix). She enjoys socializing with friends & family and walking her pets in the park.

Technician Supervisor:
David Cordeiro, BSB, CVT
David is CVH’s technician supervisor and has been a member of the team since 2000. He has a bachelor's degree in Biology from UMass Dartmouth and is a Certified Veterinary Technician. David was part of the CVH emergency relief effort for rescuing pets and animals affected by Hurricane Katrina. He spent 9 days in Baton Rouge, LA providing medical and husbandry services to animal victims displaced by the storm. He enjoys running, traveling, socializing on the weekends, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Sharron Crooks, CVT
Sharron has been a veterinary technician at CVH since 1986. She has been a certified veterinary technician since 1995. She is the proud owner of 15 cats, 5 dogs, 6 rabbits, 1 ferret, 6 hamsters, 9 guinea pigs, and a large assortment of birds. She is currently working towards her wildlife rescue certification. She also has a certificate in dietary nutrition.

Keri Kubik
Keri has been a veterinary technician at Capeway Veterinary Hospital (CVH) since 2001. She attends continuing education classes for veterinary sciences. She has hand raised several litters of kittens and has rehabilitated various species of wildlife such as owls and squirrels. In 2005, Keri was part of the CVH emergency relief effort for rescuing pets and animals affected by Hurricane Katrina. She spent 9 days in Baton Rouge, LA providing medical and husbandry services to animal victims displaced by the storm. Lillie, Zuice, and Leroy are her three cats. Leroy, who is deaf and partially blind, was adopted through CVH at 3 weeks of age. Lennox is her very happy and excitable pitbull.

Melissa Smith
Melissa has been a veterinary technician at CVH since 2003 and is one of our surgical techs. She enjoys working with all of Capeway's patients, especially our geriatrics who require specialized care. She furthers her veterinary knowledge by regularly attending continuing educational seminars. Trina is her very mellow yellow labrador, Petey is her very rambunctious great dane mix, and Rajah is her cat.

Laurel Taylor
Laurel has been with CVH since 1983 and is one of our veterinary technicians. She has an Oriental short-haired cat named Lily. Some of her hobbies are sewing, knitting and spending time with her 3 children and 11 grandchildren.

Stephanie Pacheco, BSVT, CVT
Stephanie has been a member of the CVH team since March 2007. She has a bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology from Mt Ida College and is a Certified Veterinary Technician. She has 2 dogs, Joli a 6 year old chihuahua and Malachite her newly adopted 2 year old beagle.She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Vanessa Rego
Vanessa, our groomer, runs our grooming department here at Capeway Veterinary Hospital. Vanessa joined us in January 2007, took a short break and then returned in August 2008. She has worked in the veterinary field since 2006 (as a veterinary technician & client care specilaist) and added grooming skills to her resume in 2008. She is experienced with all types of dogs and can provide most standard breed cuts or customize the cut based on your needs. Cat grooming can also be provided.

Jen Bourassa
Jen joined the Capeway team in 2007 as a veterinary technician. She has two cats who she considers to be "her children" Rufus a 1 year old and Gidget a 6 month old. They are both every energetic and they keep her smiling.

Jada Thridgill, CVT
Jada has been a member of Capeway since March 2008. She has an associate's degree in Veterinary Technology from Mt. Ida College and is a Certified Veterinary Technician. She has a cat named "MaMa."

Peter Teixeira
Peter joined the Capeway family in August of 2007 as a veterinary technician. His medical experience includes: being registered as an EMT, Phlebotomy Certification, and attending eight months of the US Corpsman Medical School. Prior to his military training, he worked for five years on the cardiac unit at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Peter's extended furry family consists of a golden retriever named Boomar, a chihuahua/pug mix named Sebastian, a pug named Tyson and three rambunctious stray cats: Smokey a.k.a. "18 lives", Lucky Stripes, and Puss-n-Boots. Peter is excited to be a part of the Capeway team and looks forward to assisting with all your pet's care.

Wendy Brennan
Wendy joined CVH in 2005 and is our head client care specialist. She has been working with the public for over a decade and has received multiple awards for her excellence in customer service. She enjoys being a health advocate for your pet and is here to address all your client concerns. Zelda is her german shepard, Sampson is her boxer who was adopted through CVH as a very sick puppy, and Coara is the newest member of her four legged family. She also has two cats, Milan and Berlin named after her favorite getaway. Wendy enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, children, and friends.

Angela Costa
Angela joined CVH in September 2007 as one of our client care specialists. She has five cats: Charlie, Guiness, Henry, Lola and Riley. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Angela also volunteers at Habitat for Cats where she is involved in the Spay, Trap and Return program and foster care.

Marnie is a life long resident of Fairhaven, mother of 2 sons Dakota & Devin and a cat Moonshine. She has always been involved with animals one way or another. She is currently furthering her education via online courses.

Terri Richard
Terri has always enjoyed animals and has been a Certified Pharmacy Technician since 2002. She joined the CVH team in October 2009. She is a mother of three, (Trevor , Taylor and Amanda), enjoys riding on the back of her husband's motorcycle, and spending time with family and friends. She has been a volunteer for the Whaling City Festival for 12 years. She has 3 dogs, Jade and Sable (both Boxers) and her Baby Marino an English Bulldog. She is looking forward to becoming a Veterinary Technician and working for Capeway for many years.
